Message from the Principal

It is my pleasure to welcome all new and returning students to the 2017-2018 school year.  This will be my fourth year as principal of Lydia Lois Beardy Memorial school and 9th year in Wunnumin Lake.  Time has flown by so quickly and I have been fortunate over these years to watch the school change in a positive direction, see many students grow and mature into accomplished young people and be part of a strong, dedicated and hard-working staff.

I realize that school is not always easy; I am here to support you throughout this journey, as are your parents/guardians and teachers.  It is important to remember that we are all unique with different skills and talents.  Use your skills and talents to help you be successful in school.  The best advice I have to offer probably repeats what many have told you before: attend class daily, complete all your assigned work and make good choices.  The choices you make today will have a substancial impact on your future.

Our society today places heavy emphasis on an education and a high school diploma is a necessity to continue your education to college or university.  With this diploma you have the ability to determine the right career path for yourself.  Some of you may choose to be a mechanic, others may want to be nurses, doctors or lawyers.  The career options are endless provided you plan ahead and finish elementary and high school to the best of your ability.

Make us all proud.  Show the community, your family and teachers how capable you are.  I believe in each and every one of you.
